Licence to perform dogging – CPCCLDG3001

This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform slinging techniques, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear and/or the directing of the crane operator in the movement of the load when the load is out of view of the crane/ operator for licensing purposes.

Description

The licence to perform dogging course is a 5 day course consisting of theory and practical training and assessments and covers:

  • Requirements of a Dogger
  • Identifying and managing hazards
  • Assessing loads correctly
  • Selecting the appropriate lifting gear and appropriate slinging methods
  • Communications including hand and whistle signals
  • Attaching and slinging loads using appropriate techniques. equipment and communications
  • Directing the loads
  • Clean up after job

Participants must be at least 18 years of age to undertake this course. Once participants have successfully completed the course they will be issued a Statement of Attainment and a Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS).  They have 60 days to apply to the state WHS Regulator for issue of the licence.
