July 25, 2018 @ 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
$500.00
This course is for anyone wanting to learn how to operate a Telehandler (also known as a Manitou).
This one day course provides training and assessment in operating a Telehandler that is not fitted with a boom or jib and hook block and is not over 3 tonne capacity or fitted with a personnel box. A high risk work licence is required for a CN crane and/or EWP if these attachments are used.
Course duration is generally 1 day. Additional training will be provided at no cost to participants if it is required.
The course consists of theory and practical training and assessments and covers:
- Load calculation
- Choosing and using the right attachments
- Pre and post operational checks
- Operating the machine safely
- Carrying and placing loads
- Checking and reporting faults
Telehandlers are a versatile machine that are commonly used on a variety of construction sites as they can lift heavy loads and have the reach to place the loads in places not easily accessible by a forklift. There are a number of sites around NQ where the Telehandler competency is useful, for example, solar farms and medium to large construction sites.
Course fee is $500 per participant.
